Who a 14-inch fits
A 14 to 19 inch inseam, roughly. Prevelo publishes 14 to 17.5 inches for the Alpha One; woom publishes 16 to 19.1 for the GO 2; Guardian publishes a 15 inch minimum leg length for the 14. Those are three different answers for the same wheel size, which is why you measure.
The weight spread
A typical four-year-old weighs about 35.1 lb. At 11.3 lb, the Prevelo is 32% of that child. At 16 lb, the Guardian is 46%. Both are rideable; only one of them is easy to pick up off the driveway without help.
One caveat on the comparison: Prevelo publishes its weights without pedals fitted. Add a set of pedals and the real-world gap to the woom narrows.
Brakes at this size
The woom GO 2 has two independent V-brakes and also ships with a rear coaster brake, which woom notes is a CPSC requirement at this size. The Prevelo is a true freewheel with dual hand brakes and no coaster. The Guardian runs its single-lever SureStop system.
If you specifically want no coaster brake — so backpedaling does nothing and your child learns the levers — the Prevelo and the Guardian are the two that give you that out of the box.
