Best 16 inch kids bikes
Sixteen inches is the longest-lived size and the one where brands disagree most. Minimum saddle heights run from 16.9 inches (Prevelo Alpha Two) to 19 inches (woom GO 3), and weights from 12.1 lb to 21.16 lb. Your child's inseam decides which half of that table you are shopping in.

If your child's inseam is under 19 inches, the woom GO 3 does not fit them yet and the Prevelo Alpha Two probably does. That single check eliminates most of the confusion in this size.

The 2.1 inch problem
Every bike in that table is a 16-inch. Every one of them is sold to four-to-six-year-olds. And the lowest saddle position varies by more than two inches between them — which, at this scale, is an entire size.
This is the single clearest illustration of why this site sizes by inseam. A parent who buys "a 16-inch" has not yet made a decision.
How long a 16-inch lasts
Longer than any other size, if you pick one with travel. The Prevelo Alpha Two has 8.3 inches of saddle adjustment and the woom GO 3 has 6.1. That is two seasons for most children, sometimes three.
The Schwinn does not publish a saddle range at all, which means you cannot plan for it before the box arrives.

Inseam 19 inches or more: woom GO 3. Lightest of the bikes that fit, with the longest usable saddle range at the top end.
Inseam 16.9 to 19 inches: Prevelo Alpha Two. It is the only bike here that genuinely fits that band, and it is light.
Braking worries: Guardian 16 Original. The 16.25 inch minimum leg length is the lowest published figure in the table, and the single-lever brake removes a whole class of crash.
