Prevelo Alpha review
Prevelo's Alpha series is the lightest range in this guide at every wheel size, and it publishes the lowest minimum saddle heights too. One caveat matters when you cross-shop: Prevelo quotes weights without pedals fitted, and its rivals do not.

We have not ridden these bikes. What follows is the published spec across the range, the arithmetic, and the one measurement asymmetry that makes Prevelo look better on paper than a like-for-like comparison would.

The two things Prevelo does better than anyone
Low minimum saddle heights
At every size, the Alpha reaches lower than the equivalent woom: 14.75 vs 15.5 inches at 14-inch, 16.9 vs 19 inches at 16-inch, 21.2 vs 22.4 inches at 20-inch. For a child who is small for their age, that is the entire ballgame.
Saddle travel
The Alpha One and Alpha Two both publish a 25.2 inch maximum saddle height. On the Alpha Two that is 8.3 inches of adjustment, which is more than any other bike in this guide and translates into an extra season of use.
The weight asterisk
Prevelo lists weights without pedals. A set of kids' platform pedals is not nothing. So when you read "11.3 lb Alpha One vs 12.2 lb woom GO 2", the real gap is smaller than 0.9 lb.
We are not accusing anyone of anything — it is a disclosed measurement convention. But it does mean the spec sheets are not directly comparable, and nobody else seems to say so.
What we would check in person
Brake lever reach on the Alpha One and Two. Whether the hydraulic discs on the Alpha Three are set up with enough lever throw for small hands. And the actual weight with pedals fitted, on a scale.
